With the security situation in the country rapidly improving with the collapse of the LTTE in May this year, Germany has further relaxed travel restrictions imposed on German nationals visiting Sri Lanka.
The German Embassy said that a long standing travel advisory had been eased enabling German tourists to visit Yala National Park and Arugam Bay. The Defence Ministry welcomed the move while urging other countries to review existing travel restrictions on foreigners imposed years ago. A senior Ministry official told The Island that the LTTE no longer posed a threat on national security.
Sri Lankaa??s tourism has great potential.
